ACE Mentor Nashville Banquet 2018

The annual end of year ACE Nashville Banquet on April 26th brought much pride and joy to TMP. Our team of 9 students from Stratford STEM High School and Lebanon High School presented their sophisticated design of an aquaponic garden to the community and how it explored this year’s theme of “movement”. The project was inspired by a mock RFP from the Country Music Hall of Fame exploring an opportunity to grow plants and raise fish for the catering needs of their events at a location on Woodland Street.

At the banquet, two students from the team were awarded $2,500 scholarships that will go towards their future education in an ACE related field. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two intelligent and talented young women. ACE awarded over $70,000 in scholarship money to Nashville area students.

During sessions throughout this past academic year, the students heard presentations from many different architecture, construction and engineering related professionals to help them better understand the multitude of career opportunities our industries have to offer. They also visited the Nashville International Airport for an in depth tour of the airfield. They learned about the civil engineering demands of the tarmac and how the former quarry is now being used in the geothermal system serving the concourses.

We capped off our year with an exciting tour of the new Tennessee State Museum construction site. Turner Construction Company and EOA were kind enough to accommodate our students who were thrilled with the experience. TMP is honored to have had the opportunity to work with these talented students and to support the ACE program.
