Motlow Building III awarded Outstanding Project by American School & University Magazine

The latest Building on the Motlow State Community College Smyrna campus, Academic Building III, is featured in the 2020 Architectural Portfolio in American School & University!  Named an Outstanding Project by a jury of AIA Committee on Education peers, this academic building serves as the main hub for student services and laboratory learning on the rapidly-growing campus.

Positioned adjacent to the MaryLou Apple Building, Building III furthers the campus masterplan by creating a central lawn and tree-lined drive to elevate the collegiate feeling of this once single-building site.  The design deepens MSCC’s ties to the community and expands the pedagogical approaches available to faculty, with large gathering spaces for community connection and numerous student collaboration and study spaces on every floor to encourage faculty and staff interaction outside the classroom.
