Station 37 serves Bellevue and replaces an aging station at the same location.  The overall design is a slight variation on the prototypical fire station design that TMP worked with Metro to establish almost 10 years ago. The new facility is four double-deep bays (89’-0”) with a total of 14 bunk rooms including two captains.

The facility is sited using the front apron as the driving factor. It is 70’-0” deep from the sidewalk to the building to allow NFD to pull their largest piece of equipment out of the bays and close the doors behind. The apparatus has a dedicated drive separate from the drive used by staff and visitors for parking. Cut and fill on this particular site was a focus of the design. Understanding that the trucks have trouble navigating steep slopes due to their size, TMP worked with the fire department to understand the limitations and the Contractor and civil engineer to efficiently balance cut and fill.
