Serving Our Community in 2018

At TMP not only do we do great work designing for our clients, but our employees do great work giving back to our community. Throughout the year, we take moments to engage together and collaborate on addressing needs in our neighborhood. We believe it’s a vital component to a healthy work environment and our role as community business leaders to lend our resources and talents to the community.

From influencing some of the industry’s next leading architects or stretching our legs for cancer research, we are proud to give back to our community. Here are a few highlights from our community service efforts this year:

Inspiring a New Generation of Designers

As a firm, we’ve been apart of ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program for many years, influencing the next generation of architects and designers. Each year we mentor a team of students through a design challenge, exposing them to real world opportunities in our industry and building their confidence to follow their dreams. More than 9,000 students from 1,000 different high schools across the country have participated in ACE. Not only does the organization engage sponsors and volunteer mentors, but they also help students grow their resumes through scholarships and grants.

Exercising Our Employees’ Passion

The Leukemia and Lymphoma society is a cause very close to TMP’s heart. Walking in their Light the Night Walk has been a tradition of TMP’s for 2 years, with a goal of raising awareness and money for cancer research. Not only do we want to help find a cure, but members of our own TMP family have been affected by this disease. We team up with other firms around middle TN to recruit team members and raise money. Together, we raised over 6 thousand dollars for cancer research.

Holiday Handicrafts

Originally founded by architects, Gingertown is a great chance for us to test our design skills for a good cause. Not only does it get us in the Christmas spirit, but the gingerbread building competition donates money to Ronald McDonald House Charities and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. Thanks so much to ESa Architects, Adventure Science Center and DMS Architects for always putting on this spectacular event! We certainly love being apart of it.

We can’t wait to see what the new year brings us. We know it will be filled new projects, new opportunities and new ways to serve the Middle Tennessee community. Cheers to the New Year!
