Metro Nashville Fire Station No. 32

The Challenge
TMP partnered with Metro Nashville to design a brand-new station to serve the city of Hermitage.
-
Client
Metropolitan Government of Nashville/Davidson County
-
Location
Nashville, Tennessee
-
Size
17,693 square feet
-
Distinguishing Features
- Separate drive for fire trucks and emergency vehicles from staff and visitor parking to allow space large enough for equipment

The Design Solution
The design for this site required detailed attention to cut and fill. Firetrucks have trouble navigating steep slopes due to their size, so TMP worked to understand the limitations with the contractor and civil engineer to efficiently balance cut and fill. This due diligence helped the client remain within budget.
The facility includes four double-deep bays with 14 bunk rooms.

The Design Impact
Metro Nashville Fire Station 32 is one of several fire stations that TMP has designed with Metro Nashville, varying slightly from the prototypical design that was established in 2011.
