Emory Johns Creek Hospital

The Challenge
Committed to elevated service, Emory Johns Creek Hospital challenged TMP to design a new hospital campus with a “five-star hotel” experience and the ability to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care. The original campus successfully opened in 2007. After serving their community for more than a decade, Emory Johns Creek Hospital sought design solutions to continue this five-star experience while growing its service lines and enhancing patient care.

The Design Solution
TMP designed the original hospital to accommodate future vertical and horizontal expansions of Emory John Creek’s campus. These once-future expansions are now a reality.
Two additional floors of patient care spaces were completed in 2022 with a cantilevered floor plate that not only expanded available space but gave the exterior a modern upgrade. The ICU was renovated and expanded in place, and the surgery department was expanded horizontally, providing two new state-of-the-art surgical rooms.
Nursing units were reimagined to increase visibility, improve access to support, and enhance the patient room environment. ICU rooms were designed with 360-degree caregiver access and incorporated enhanced daylighting. The design team coordinated with surgery staff to understand needs and wants, resulting in new, expanded operating rooms with an adjacent doctors’ lounge.
