Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery

The Challenge

The Warren Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery (WCNDD) at Vanderbilt University is a clinical stage biotech within a research institution that invests in drug research to treat neurological disorders. The center studies brain disorders and approaches to the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular disease, malaria, and more. The combined specialties of academia and pharmaceutical processes allows WNCDD to advance the development of treatment.

WCNDD needed new, state-of-the-art lab space to support its goals of providing life-changing neurological solutions.

  • Client

    Vanderbilt University

  • Location

    Franklin, Tennessee

The Design Solution

TMP designed a new buildout on the second floor of Innovation Park in Cool Springs that included modern, upgraded laboratory space, individual offices and open office areas, and break/meeting areas. WCNDD's headquarters is located on the first floor.

Though small in size, the lab is paramount in helping staff complete crucial and innovative work, advancing scientific breakthroughs is an academic setting that is less concerned with profits compared to major pharmaceutical companies.

The Design Impact

The lab's mission is to maintain a clear focus on patient care and treatment, and having a space to carry out that mission efficiently makes a huge difference.
