The Design Solution
TMP is known as a trusted advisor in the health space and has a strong relationship with Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. We completed the design for a 14,970-square-foot vertical patient tower expansion and the renovation of the sterile processing department, bringing the total square footage to 31,798.
The fourth-floor vertical expansion is shell space with room for future buildouts, while the fifth floor brings 20 new patient beds to the hospital for a total of 139 licensed beds. The team worked with the facility to be mindful of the budget while still providing a fresh, modern space that coexists with the existing hospital.

The Design Impact
This new tower serves the Cartersville community with much-needed health resources. The expansion space was designed to be thoroughly functional and thoughtful, with an eye to the future. All rooms in the new tower can supplement with virtual nursing stations — not to take away from bedside care but expand it.
